Warehouse Hardware and Software

Our warehouse is equipped with the most sophisticated and powerful Warehouse Management System (WMS) available, Veltion.  The warehouse has four levels of racking systems, electric (dustless) Raymond reach trucks and Toyota counter-balance trucks.  A wireless scanner can keep track of your inventory for any item that is barcode labeled.

Warehouse Physical Security and Theft Prevention

The warehouse is physically secure.  Being a Canada Customs authorized bond warehouse since 1987, the warehouse and its personnel meet high standards.  It also fully complies with the Canada Border Services Agency Memorandum D7-4-4 for customs-bonded warehouses.

It is sturdily constructed with heavy metal siding and concrete masonry which exceeds the standards for bond warehouses in Canada.   The doors are industrial grade steel equipped with single-direction deadbolt locks.  Flush mounted doors at the loading dock are doubly secured by metal bars and chains.  All doors remain closed unless in use.  There are no windows.  This controls access and provides secure storage for your products.

The building is well lit.  The primary interior lighting is metal halide fixtures with -50FC initial illumination at a height 30 inches above the floor.  There is emergency battery-powered lighting as well.  In compliance with the local code, the exterior lighting is high pressure sodium wall packs at 400W.  These are installed on the building’s walls.

A 24-hour digital security monitoring system featuring closed circuit television (CCTV) with continuous audio and video recording fully protects the premises.  There are 16 cameras to monitor the areas of the warehouse and every entrance.  There are three monitoring stations for the CCTV:  the warehouse office, the operations office and the management room.

Employees are not allowed to bring any type of carrier into the warehouse.  The perimeter is further protected by and advanced wireless burglary alarm system.  The reputable security monitoring company ADT Security Services Canada, Inc., monitors this system. They have added a remote control pan/tilt/zoom video camera that enables close scrutiny of the warehouse activities.  Authorized employees can monitor this system on their computers or PDA.

Procedural Security

Sector Nine ensures that all of our clients’ information is legible and protected against exchange, loss or errors.  All information is treated as highly confidential and is not allowed to be released to unauthorized personnel.  No unauthorized people are allowed in the warehouse or operations office.  The operations staff maintains the accuracy of all  information received including the shipper’s  and consignees’ names, addresses, first and second notify parties, description, weight quantity, and unit of measure, i.e. boxes, cartons, skids, etc, of the cargo being handled.  This protects the best interests of you, our client.

Education and Training of Staff

Sector Nine provides its employees ongoing security and privacy training. Staff is reminded regularly of the importance of our clients’ rights to maintain private contacts with Sector Nine.

Insurance

Sector Nine warehouses have limited liability.    We recommend that your company cover the value of your goods through your own or an open insurance policy.

Working Hours

The warehouse staff normally works from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.  However, Sector Nine’s staff provides flexibility to finish any rush or after hour orders.  Please let us know how we can serve you.
